Personal MBA Community

Get a World-Class Business Self-Education

Hello everyone! I cannot believe it has taken me this long to find PMBA. I have been looking for something like this, but not hard enough I guess.

Eventually I will make the time to participate more actively in this community, but for now I just wanted to say hi. I'm a 23 year old college drop out. This had to happen due to financial setbacks, not by choice. It's unfortunate that it took financially irresponsible parents for me to wake up and realize that my life does not have to be like theirs, but I'm grateful. Right now most of my business curiosities lie in project management and consulting. I have always been good at helping people build on their ideas and make them better and not so much at creating my own. I'm still not a hundred percent sure what I should focus my energy on as I have just recently decided that I create my future and am in control of my own life.

Does anyone have any suggestions on which books I should start reading? I'm planning to pick up one or two today and read them over the long weekend.

Lastly has anyone checked out Google Wave yet? I think that it can be another great communication tool for the Personal MBA community. If anyone hasn't heard of it check out these YouTube videos:

I have 4 invites left that I would be happy to share. Just reply with your e-mail address.

I look forward to participating more in the forums!

Hi Tiffany,
I am glad to hear that you woke up early. It took me a lot longer to realize I had to "wake up". There are several things that you will wake up to periodically. Human knowledge is so limited. Even the smartest people only know so much. Some famous person once said what you know is a handful and what you dont know is as large as an ocean. Add to that, you dont know what you dont know. Bottom line, everybody is disadvantaged in some respect at all times.

Anyways, what really helped me is a course I took recently which used "The Tree of Knowledge" by Humberto R. Maturana and Francisco Varela, as a key component for the course. It is the best book i've ever bought.
